The local communities are a host of indigenous knowledge yet there are factors that contribute toward the inability to commercialize their knowledge. We explore the challenges and outcomes:

  3. Owning in silos
  4. Community project not yielding results
  5. Government mining slowly in implementing some of the legislation

Outcomes

  1. Those who have capital exploits the indigenous knowledge
  2. No benefit-sharing agreements for rural communities
  3. Indigenous people not recognized as contributors to bio-economy
  4. Continuation of poverty in rural areas
